Hi,

I just wanted to let everyone know that this is still on my mind and I hope to have some time to work on it in a few weeks.

Feel free to use this thread as a means of showing that you're still around. wink

Re: Status

Same here. We should probably get a github repository [arch-science], create the initial folder setup and start publishing PKGBUILDS in the near future. Gather on the momentum smile

Re: Status

Yeah, I still plan to do this and it would actually be really useful for me quite soon. Real life just keeps eating up my time though.

About a month ago I created (or rather, asked Dusty to create) a dedicated email address for arch-science which I will use to create the Github account and anything else. I have also checked with Kaiting about hosting a repo on Auriga and that's fine with him.

I'll try to get to the Git account this weekend. I still need to figure out how the packages should be managed in the Git repo. I think overall it will be easier to use JSON to store metadata and generate the PKGBUILDs, repos, etc. automatically, but I do not know if everyone will be prepared to use JSON for that. I'll bring it up in another thread once I've given it some thought.

Re: Status

I'm updating PKGBUILD for code-aster and related apps.
I've almost finshed and in the next days I'll upload files on AUR, waiting git account is active.

Re: Status

I feel really bad about this but I still haven't found the time. As I see it, for this to be effective we need a decent metadata handling system right from the start. As mentioned, I have something that I use for my own packages but it needs to be adapted for general use and will require some thought.
